History
Syrgis was formed as a holding company of Edgewater Capital Partners in July, 2000, when we acquired Garrison Industries of El Dorado, Arkansas. Garrison Industries was renamed Lycus, Ltd. Syrgis added PChem of Latexo, Texas, to its group in April, 2004, and H&S Chemical Company of Covington, Kentucky, in August, 2005. With the acquisition of H&S, Syrgis Performance Products formed its headquarters in Covington.
The acquisition of the organic peroxides business of Norac in August, 2007, brought about the formation of Syrgis Performance Initiators. This entity consists of two groups formerly known as Norac Peroxides (US) and Norac Andos AB (Sweden).
Syrgis divested H&S Chemical Company in 2009 and moved the corporate headquarters to the current location in Cincinnati, Ohio. Syrgis also rebranded all of the companies under the Syrgis banner in 2009. Lycus, Ltd. was rebranded as Syrgis Performance Specialties, and PChem was rebranded as Syrgis Performance Chemicals, also referred to as Syrgis PChem.
